I stupidly bought cards with glitter this year and I may take Rory's position in future.
Nance, I try to have 'days' but Parkinson's Law is fully in effect here. My 40 something daughters need everything to be just the way it always was.
AC, we have has a few tree decorating parties and I love them.
Lynda, what?
Kelley, yes. Ours is pretty laid back, but the grandkid (and the dog) are both pretty quiet. I bet yours rocks.
MARY Ghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13178370815712313585noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5668392343139286753.post-1128620294407077892013-12-22T13:17:47.997-05:002013-12-22T13:17:47.997-05:00Lovely post, so evocative. I guess it's 44 years old or so.Shttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05602868040771218507noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5668392343139286753.post-57691805370808419982013-12-20T11:50:26.953-05:002013-12-20T11:50:26.953-05:00we don't use glitter here, Rory hates it! I used to love it, but am adapting :) We are still developing our traditions, but putting up the tree early, and taking it down the day after christmas, are definitely on our list of traditions even now :) Have fun! I hear you guys have a heck of a lot more snow than our 0 inches... :)Farming Mamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17938675746905624146noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5668392343139286753.post-19750220266755012322013-12-20T09:57:37.393-05:002013-12-20T09:57:37.393-05:00Ah, Parkinson's Law! "The amount of work ...Ah, Parkinson's Law! "The amount of work expands to fill the time allotted." I am a follower also, sadly. Today is present wrapping day. My decorating is done (including a tinseled tree!), my foodstuffs bought for the family Christmas Eve open house, and the stockings are hung by the chimney with care. I would love to go ahead and put all presents under the tree now, but my boys (ages 25 & 28) insist that they not appear until Christmas morning, just like always. They are sticklers for that tradition.Nancehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17627214346956206283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5668392343139286753.post-35362795603287481222013-12-20T07:06:53.364-05:002013-12-20T07:06:53.364-05:00Our (ie Sue's) decorating begins early. We always have a tree decorating party, but this is now done at Shauna's house. The passing on of traditions is fun to see. Although this is not a Christmas tradition, I remember Shauna once (not too long ago) admonishing me to "clear your work surface" before beginning to cook. This is exactly what her mother says. every now and then I do just that.Anvilcloudhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07974744042579564912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5668392343139286753.post-73488301616746619422013-12-19T16:54:49.431-05:002013-12-19T16:54:49.431-05:00Well, there was the severed head that traditionall...Well, there was the severed head that traditionally hung from my In-laws' tree. Christmas is my favorite time of the year because I get to plan the biggest party of the year. kayerjhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08479123027080062607noreply@blogger.com
