My screen porch

This is the side of the screened porch that is part of the house. The door on the left goes out onto a deck, and behind the right hand green chair is a patio door to the living room.

This is the screened porch from the patio door. There are two walls of screen, the one shown and one to the right of the chairs. There is a house wall on the left and behind the camera.

And early snowfall caught me before I stripped and piled the furniture for the winter. The photo appears to have a double exposure but that is acutally a reflection  in the glass of the patio door.

  3. In the 'bush' as we are, with biting bugs all around, a screened room - the table lifts to eating position - is the best luxury available. I track birds by sound, mostly, but I can see most of the field behind the house from my favourite chair and keep up with our local deer and turkeys that way. It can be a cold spot if the wind is just right, but worth it.

    1. It's the screened access to the outdoors that counts.

    1. We almost designed the house around this feature, having spent many springs in a cabin working in the bush in bug season.

    1. It was really an inspired design. JG's sister had books of house design and we found this one. JG drafted the building plan from it. We did some changes ... We have a big entrance hall and coat closet, needed for winter weather, and wide halls. We modified to two bedrooms and two small bathrooms to get the space. But the screen porch is room sized, with good seating, and a great resort in good weather.
